UV Beast V3 vs UV Geek Atlas 365nm: Sustained Output and Distance Compared

If you are comparing the UV Beast V3 365nm with the UV Geek Atlas 365, one opening measurement is not enough. We use one test for sustained behavior over time and a separate test for cross-model irradiance at distance.

Test 1: Output Retained Over Time

The LS128 sustained-output test compares each flashlight with its own stabilized baseline. The first 5 seconds are excluded; 0:05-0:15 is the 100% baseline; 9:55-10:05 and 29:55-30:05 are the 10- and 30-minute checkpoints.

Atlas held a much larger share of its own stabilized starting output in these two official runs. This is a stability comparison only. Raw LS128 absolute readings are not used to claim one model is more powerful than another.

Test 2: LS135 Irradiance at Distance

For cross-model distance comparison, both lights are evaluated with the Linshang LS135 after exactly 10 minutes of continuous operation. At each distance, the beam is swept around the sensor for 10 seconds using the same concentric motion and the highest registered irradiance is recorded.

In the current official distance master, Atlas measured higher than the tested UV Beast V3 365 at all six standardized distances from 10 through 60 feet.

What the Two Tests Say Together

LS128 shows that Atlas held more of its own stabilized output through 30 minutes in these runs. LS135 separately shows higher measured irradiance from Atlas at every standardized distance after the common 10-minute burn-in. Those are two independent pieces of evidence, not one blended metric.

What This Comparison Does Not Prove

These measurements describe the specific tested units under the stated procedures. They do not guarantee that every unit will produce identical results or that every fluorescent target will appear a fixed amount brighter. Material response still depends on wavelength, target chemistry, distance, surface, background, and viewing conditions.

Who Atlas Is For

Atlas is the larger field-search model for minerals, Yooperlites, scorpions, leak-dye work, and other searches where distance, coverage, and sustained output matter. If your work is mainly pet stains, hotel rooms, or other close indoor checks, the compact Scout may be the better fit even though Atlas measured higher in retained output at 10 and 30 minutes and in LS135 irradiance from 10 to 60 feet for these tested units.

Bottom line: use the sustained-output data to understand how each tested light holds output, and the LS135 table to compare measured irradiance at distance. Do not collapse the two tests into one unsupported “power” number.
